How Question Scoring Works in Assessments

Each question type in an assessment is scored differently, but all follow a common principle: the final score is calculated and then multiplied by the question’s assigned points.

Multiple Choice

Score = ((correct selected / total correct) − (wrong selected / total wrong)) × question points

This scoring method provides partial credit for correct answers while reducing the score for incorrect selections. It ensures that selecting all options does not result in a full score.

Single Choice

Score = (1 if correct answer is selected, otherwise 0) × question points

Only one answer is correct. The candidate receives full points only if the correct option is selected; otherwise, the score is zero.

Fill in the Blanks

Score = (correct blanks / total blanks) × question points

Each blank contributes equally to the final score. The final score depends on how many blanks are filled in correctly.

Open Text / Video

Score = (evaluation level value) × question points

Evaluation is based on a performance level:

  • Poor = 0

  • Fair = 0.25

  • Good = 0.75

  • Excellent = 1

Scoring can be done manually or using AI, depending on the assessment setup.
